What are the properties of Teflon tube? Is it wear-resistant?
Teflon (PTFE) properties:
1. Excellent non-stickiness: Almost no substance adheres to PTFE coating. Even thin films show excellent non-adhesive performance.
2. Strong heat resistance: PTFE coating has excellent heat and low-temperature resistance. It can withstand temperatures up to 300°C briefly, and can be used continuously between 240°C and 260°C with significant thermal stability. It works at freezing temperatures without becoming brittle and does not melt at high temperatures.
3. Good sliding properties: PTFE coating has a low friction coefficient, ranging only from 0.05 to 0.15 under load.
4. Good moisture resistance: The PTFE surface repels water and oil, and is not easily stained during operation. Small amounts of dirt can be wiped off easily, reducing downtime and improving efficiency.
5. High wear resistance: Under high load, Teflon has excellent wear resistance and combines wear resistance with non-adhesion.
6. High corrosion resistance: PTFE is almost unaffected by chemicals and can withstand all strong acids (including aqua regia), strong oxidizers, reducers and organic solvents except molten alkali metals, fluorinated media and temperatures above 300°C, protecting parts from chemical corrosion.
